Forty percent of all Alaskan residents
live in Anchorage, the state's largest city. Anchorage serves
as the major transportation hub, shopping area, and health care
referral site for the entire state. The Municipality of Anchorage
Department of Health and Human Services provides the full range
of public health services. Athabaskan Indians are the traditional
residents of this area.
