The Behavioral Health Integration Project is funded by a five year SAMHSA COSIG grant. COSIG stands for Co-Occuring State Incentive Grant. COSIG provides funding to the States to develop or enhance their infrastructure to increase their capacity to provide accessible, effective, comprehensive, coordinated/integrated, and evidence-based treatment services to persons with co-occurring substance abuse and mental disorders. The COSIG project will have two phases: Phase I – The first three years of the grant will focus on infrastructure development/enhancement. Phase II – An additional 2 years of funding will be provided at a lower level for evaluation and continued collection/reporting of performance data. The grant application required that the State address the following infrastructure development areas: Standardized Screening and Assessment Complementary Licensure and Credentialing Requirements Service Coordination and Network Building Financial Planning Information Sharing The State of Alaska COSIG application DBH is entering into a strategic planning process to implement the Comprehensive Continuous Integrated System of Care model (CCISC) throughout the Alaska public behavioral health care system. In order to implement this model, the strategic planning process begins by identifying key goals, objectives, and strategies at the consumer, program, and system levels.
